Final Q-2 US GDP Will Do Little To Help The USD This Week
$.DXY
Final Q-2 US GDP (gross domestic product) will be released Friday, 25 September. This is the 3rd and final GDP release and is being published 85 days after the end of the Quarter.
The US economy had a really grim Q-1, so all eyes will be on seeing signs of a recovery as the advanced and preliminary GDP’s have announced.
The GDP in Q-2 has exceeded expectations and is on track to record 3.7% growth. The US Commerce Department revised the advanced GDP number from 3.2%, but the final number should be closer to the advanced report.
Improving GDP is 1 of the factors the market was counting on to persuade the US Fed’s FOMC to deliver a much-awaited interest rate hike, which it did not last Thursday.
The final Q-2 GDP figures, will probably have a subdued impact on the USD, as even exceeding expectations will do little to boost the currency.
Stay tuned…
