Finland’s consumer confidence improved in November after falling in the previous two months, survey figures from Statistics Finland showed Friday.

The consumer confidence index rose to 4.7 in November from 1.3 in October. In September, the score was 4.2.

The recent survey was conducted among 1,285 residents in Finland, between November 2 and 18.

Households’ expectations regarding their own financial situation for the next twelve months strengthened in November. The corresponding index climbed to 5.7 from 2.5 in the previous month.

Similarly, the index measuring the general economic situation of the country for the next year improved to -1.9 in November from -8.7 in October.

The survey showed that only 11 percent of consumers thought in November that unemployment would decrease over the year, while 63 percent of them believed it would increase.

Consumers predicted in November that consumer prices would go up by 1.3 percent over the next twelve months.

In November, 44 percent of consumers though the time was favourable for buying durable goods, while 56 percent of residents considered saving worthwhile.
