Finland’s consumer prices dropped further in October, though at a slower pace than in the previous month, figures from Statistics Finland showed Friday.
The consumer price index fell 0.3 percent year-over-year in October, following a 0.6 percent decrease in September. In August, prices had fallen 0.2 percent.
The index has dropped in every month thus far this year, except May when it remained unchanged.
Transport costs slid 2.0 percent in October from a year ago and prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages went down by 1.3 percent. At the same time, housing costs grew 1.0 percent.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.2 percent in October, after a 0.1 percent increase in the prior month. It was the third month of climb in a row.
The EU measure of inflation, or HICP, decreased 0.3 percent annually in October, while it increased 0.2 percent from the preceding month.
