The 20th Annual Prostate Cancer Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, June 22, 2015, at Lake of Isles Golf Course – for the first time.

The tournament is organized by Sheffield Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with Arnold Palmer’s endorsed Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF), and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. PCF is the largest global philanthropic organization funding break-through prostate cancer research. The Chairman and event designer, Mark Donohue, stated: “Our event, on the Monday after Father’s Day, is the perfect time to raise awareness about prostate cancer and fund advanced research. Too many men are affected by this disease, yet few talk about it. As the Chairman of Sheffield Pharmaceuticals, our team is deeply committed to improving global health and providing affordable solutions.”

Join national and local business leaders, tribal leaders, leading doctors and pro golfers at this world-class event, which offers more than golf. A few sponsorship / player opportunities are still available. All sponsorship proceeds will go directly to the Prostate Cancer Foundation / Dana Farber. As Honorary Event Co-Chairman, Rodney Butler, Chairman of the Mashantucket Pequot Nation stated: “Cancer is prevalent in our society as a whole and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation realizes this fact and has been proactive in offering health and wellness services and initiatives that help minimize the chance of getting diseases such as cancer. We are honored to be a part of this important event, which brings awareness to men’s health – specifically with regard to Prostate Cancer education and research.” Adding to Chairman Butler’s comments, Event Honorary Co-Chairman, Kevin Brown, Chairman of the Mohegan Tribal Nation, stated “The good health of our surrounding community has always been important to the Mohegan Tribe. We are pleased to be partnering with the Mashantucket Tribe for this important initiative to increase awareness and find a cure for an all-too-common danger for men’s health.” Of note, both Chairmen intend to play in this charity event.

The CEO of PCF, Jonathan W. Simons, MD, added: “We’ve made considerable progress. Today, PCF is the #1 philanthropic organization funding prostate cancer research globally. We have helped change how people view the disease—especially those in medical research. Your support, along with longtime partners and donors, will fund a growing number of promising research projects. You can help spark new advancements that improve health and increase hope. In fact, with the research now underway, it’s possible that a man diagnosed with prostate cancer today may live long enough to see a treatment developed that will save his life.”

On June 22nd, enjoy the finest greens and conditions at Lake of Isles, which was selected by Golf Magazine as one of the “Top 100 Courses You Can Play.” The event is privileged to be playing the exclusive South Course, which has only 200 members. Players will enjoy superb amenities, fine food by respected Chefs Young and Graham, and the chance to win prizes, including $10,000 for a Hole-in-One. Since the event sells out, sponsors are encouraged to confirm their participation now. For players/sponsors, special arrangements and events are offered at the Foxwoods and Mohegan resorts.
