French current account turned to a deficit in October from a surplus in the previous month, figures from the Bank of France showed Friday.
The current account showed a deficit of EUR 1.4 billion in October against a surplus of EUR 0.3 billion in September.
The goods trade deficit widened to EUR 3.0 billion in October from EUR 1.9 billion in the preceding month. At the same time, the surplus on services trade shrank to EUR 1.1 billion from EUR 1.8 billion.
The income account balances were stable in October. The capital account remained balanced in October after a surplus of EUR 0.1 billion logged a month earlier.
Meanwhile, the financial account deficit came in at EUR 18.4 billion in October, up from EUR 10.3 billion in the previous month.
