French producer prices declined further in September, largely due to a sharp decrease in prices of coke and refined petroleum products, the statistical office INSEE showed Friday.
Producer prices in the French market fell 2.6 percent year-over-year in September, which was worse than the 2.1 percent decrease in August.
The annual decline in September was largely caused by a 34.7 percent slump in the prices of coke and refined petroleum products.
On a monthly basis, producer prices edged up 0.1 percent in September, reversing a 1.0 percent drop in the previous month.
The decrease of prices for refined petroleum products and for other manufactured products being offset by the rise of prices for mining and quarrying products, energy and water, the agency said.
The producer price index for all markets slipped 2.1 percent in September from a year ago and remained unchanged from the previous month.
Import prices dipped 6.1 percent annually and fell 0.5 percent monthly in September.
