Germany’s wholesale prices continued to fall in December but the pace of decline slowed further, Destatis reported Thursday.

Wholesale prices decreased 1 percent year-on-year in December, slower than the 1.1 percent drop seen in November. Nonetheless, the index has been falling since July 2013.

A sharp 11.7 percent decline in solid fuels and related product prices contributed to the annual fall in December.

Month-on-month, wholesale prices dropped 0.8 percent following November’s 0.2 percent fall. A similar rate of decline was last seen in August.

In 2015, wholesale prices slid 1.2 percent, the same rate of decrease was seen in 2014.
