Gold prices were lower Tuesday morning as the dollar continued to advance against the euro.

The buck touched $1.10 to the euro ahead of a crucial summit giving Greece one final chance to stay in the euro zone.

Greek voters over the weekend rejected harsh austerity measures that were once agreed to as part of their rescue plan.

The Greek stock market is closed until Thursday.

U.S. gold for August was down $8 at $1164 an ounce, following decent gains in the previous session.
