Greece’s current account deficit in February increased from a year ago, figures from the Bank of Greece showed Monday.

The current account deficit rose to EUR 929 million in February from EUR 729 million in the corresponding month last year.

The goods trade deficit narrowed to EUR 1.15 billion in February from EUR 1.50 billion a year ago. Meanwhile, surplus on services trade shrank to EUR 501.6 million from EUR 613.3 million in February 2014.

Primary income balance turned to a deficit of EUR 175 million in February from a surplus of EUR 183.2 million in the same of the prior year. Deficit in secondary income widened notably to EUR 107.7 million from EUR 20.9 million.

Surplus in the capital account totaled EUR 108.7 million in February, down considerably from EUR 1.5 billion last year.

At the same time, financial account balance showed a deficit of EUR 680.6 million in February. A year earlier, it was a Surplus of EUR 389.9 million.
