Greece’s industrial production growth eased notably in April, preliminary figures from the Hellenic Statistical Authority showed Tuesday.
Industrial production rose a working-day-adjusted 0.4 percent year-over-year in April, much slower than previous month’s 5.3 percent growth. It was the third consecutive monthly increase.
Production in the manufacturing sector climbed 3.5 percent in April from a year ago, while mining and quarrying sector registered a decline of 2.6 percent. Electricity production also tumbled by 11.4 percent.
On a monthly basis, industrial production fell 3.2 percent in April, in contrast to a 3.1 percent gain in March. On a seasonally adjusted basis, industrial production dipped 2.0 percent.
During the first four months of the year, aggregate industrial production grew a working-day-adjusted 1.9 percent as compared to the respective period last year.
