Greece’s unemployment rate fell to the lowest level since July 2012, figures from the Hellenic Statistical Authority showed Wednesday.

The seasonally adjusted jobless rate fell to 25.4 percent in February from 25.6 in January. In February 2014, the rate stood at 27.2 percent.

The latest rate was the lowest since July 2012, when it was 25.3 percent.

The number of unemployed decreased by 97,512 from last year and employment rose by 55,454 in February.

The youth unemployment rate, which applies to the 15-24 years age group, came in at 50.1 percent compared to 56.4 percent in the prior year.
