Greece’s unemployment rate increased in the three months ended December, figures from the Hellenic Statistical Authority showed Thursday.
The jobless rate rose to 24.4 percent in the fourth quarter from 24.0 percent in the previous quarter.
In the corresponding period of 2014, the unemployment rate was 26.1 percent.
The number of unemployed persons grew by 1.2 percent compared with the previous quarter and decreased by 5.7 percent as compared to the fourth quarter last year, the agency said.
The youth unemployment rate, which applies to the 15 to 24 age group, fell to 49.0 percent in the December quarter from 51.5 percent in the same period a year ago.
