FXStreet (Mumbai) – The spokesman for the ruling Syriza party’s lawmakers said on Wednesday said Greece will not make a loan payment to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on June 5 in the absence of an aid-for-reforms deal with its international creditors soon.

“If there is no prospect of a deal by Friday or Monday, I do not know by when exactly, we will not pay,” Nikos Filis told Mega TV.

Greece is due to pay EUR 300 million to IMF, which is the first of four payments totaling EUR 1.6 billions. Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will travel to Brussels on Wednesday for a meeting with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.
