Import prices in Greece decreased at a slower pace in March, falling for the twenty-eighth consecutive month, data released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority showed Thursday.

The import price index dropped 10.5 percent on an annual basis in March, after falling 10.8 percent a month earlier. Import prices have been declining since December 2012.

Among industrial sub-sectors, import costs for energy dropped by 33 percent and those for non-durable consumer goods declined by 0.7 percent. Import prices of durable consumer goods decreased by 0.4 percent.

Prices of capital goods and durable consumer goods were higher by 0.9 percent and 0.3 percent, respectively.

Month-on-month, the import price index decreased 0.6 percent in March, in contrast to the 3.5 percent surge in the previous month.
