FXStreet (Córdoba) – Greek prime minister Alexis Tsipras wants the European Parliament to join the creditors overseeing the evaluation of its bailout.
In a letter addressed to Martin Shulz, President of the European Parliament, Tsipras requests for “full involvement of the European Parliament – as fifth actor in the context of the so-called ‘creditors quartet’ – in the regular review process regarding the implementation of the loan agreement”.
Tsipras says he wants the European Parliament to act as the “ultimate guarantor of democratic accountability and compatibility of economic policy in Europe”.
