PBOC data showed a rare gain in currency reserves
Data released overnight from the PBOC showed an unexpected rise to 3.2005T from $3.191T. Economists had expected reserves to decline to $3.167T as a continuation of the trend of the past 18 months due to effort to battle the falling yuan.
