There are 10 voting members of the FOMC
– Janet L. Yellen, Board of Governors, Chair []
– William C. Dudley, New York, Vice Chairman []
– Lael Brainard, Board of Governors [She speaks Monday at 1 pm ET]
Add it up and that’s a lot of hawkish talk but ultimately, it’s not really about the votes. The FOMC has never gone against the chair. Aside from George, no one has committed to a Sept hike so the majority could certainly be convinced to wait.
