Hungary’s foreign trade surplus increased more than initially estimated in January, final figures from the Hungarian Central Statistical Office showed Wednesday.
The trade surplus for the month was revised up to EUR 709 million from EUR 691 million initially estimated. In the corresponding month of the previous year, the surplus was EUR 507.2 million.
Exports surged 7.4 percent annually in January, which was revised up from a 3.7 percent growth in the flash report.
Imports grew 5.8 percent at the start of the year, revised from a 1.0 percent rise initially estimated on 11 March 2015.
