Hungary’s foreign trade surplus increased less than initially estimated in July, latest figures from the Hungarian Central Statistical Office showed Friday.

The trade surplus for July was revised down slightly to EUR 646 million from EUR 674.2 million reported earlier. In the corresponding month of the previous year, the surplus was EUR 438.3 million.

Exports grew 5.3 percent year-over-year in July, which was revised down from the 5.4 percent climb in the flash report.

Imports rose 2.6 percent in July from the preceding year, corrected from a 2.3 percent increase initially estimated.

In the first seven months of the year, total trade surplus of the country came in at EUR 4.9 billion versus EUR 3.7 billion in the same period a year ago. The figure was also matched with preliminary report.
