Hungary’s industrial production increased for the second straight month in May, though at a slower-than-expected pace, preliminary figures from the Hungarian Central Statistical office showed Thursday.
Industrial production climbed a working-day-adjusted 4.2 percent year-over-year in May, below economists’ expectations for a 5.5 percent gain. In April, production had risen 5.3 percent.
On an unadjusted basis, industrial production expanded 9.2 percent in May from a year ago.
Month-on-month, industrial production fell a seasonally and working-day-adjusted 0.7 percent in May, reversing a 5.5 percent rise in the preceding month.
