Iceland’s consumer price inflation held steady in December after accelerating in the previous month, figures from Statistics Iceland showed Tuesday.

The consumer price index climbed 2.0 percent year-over-year in December, the same rate of increase as in November. In October, prices had risen 1.8 percent.

Excluding housing costs, consumer prices edged up 0.1 percent annually and by 0.3 percent monthly in December.

Prices of domestic goods went up 0.5 percent in December from a year ago, while prices of imported goods slid by 1.0 percent.

Month-on-month, consumer prices rose 0.3 percent in December, in contrast to a 0.3 percent fall in the preceding month.

In a separate report, the statistical office announced that producer prices dipped 5.3 percent yearly in November, following a 5.2 percent decrease in October. It was the third month of drop in a row.

On a monthly basis, producer prices increased for the first time in six months in November by 0.4 percent, after a 1.2 percent decline reported a month earlier.
