Iceland’s wage growth accelerated for the second straight month in December, figures from Statistics Iceland showed Friday.
The wage cost index climbed at a faster pace of 9.7 percent year-over-year in December, following a 8.7 percent spike in November.
The latest rate of increase was the quickest since May 2012, when wages grew 11.0 percent.
On a monthly basis, the wage index grew at a stable pace of 0.9 percent at the end of the year.
The real wage index rose 7.6 percent annually and by 0.6 percent monthly in December.
