Iranian Parliament Passed Bill Approving Nuclear Accord
Iran’s lawmakers insist that international inspectors have only limited access to Iran’s military sites.
Iran’s parliament passed a bill Tuesday supporting the government in implementing a nuclear nuclear with world powers, but insists that international inspectors can have only limited access to Iran’s military sites, state news agency IRNA said.
“The bill to implement the JCPOA … was passed in a public session Tuesday with 161 votes in favor,” IRNA said, referring to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action reached in July.
Iran insists that its nuclear program is entirely peaceful.
The nuclear accord between Iran and the so-called P5+1 – the US, UK, France, China and Russia plus Germany was reached after 20 months of negotiations.
The UN Security Council passed 7 resolutions between Ys 2006 and 2015 requiring Iran to stop producing enriched uranium, which can be used for civilian purposes, but also to build nuclear bombs.
Four of the resolutions imposed sanctions in an effort to persuade Iran to comply.
