Ireland’s unemployment rate held steady in November, figures from the Central Statistics Office showed Tuesday.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate came in at 8.9 percent in November, the same rate as in October.

In the corresponding month of the previous year, the jobless rate was 10.4 percent.

The number of unemployed people decreased to 191,700 in November from 192,400 in the preceding month. A year ago, the jobless figure totaled 223,800.

The youth unemployment rate, which applies to the 15 to 24 age group, dropped to 19.5 percent in November from 19.8 percent in October.
