Ireland’s foreign trade surplus increased in October, as exports grew faster than imports, data from the Central Statistics Office showed Tuesday.
The seasonally adjusted trade surplus rose to EUR 4.4 billion in October from EUR 3.4 billion in the previous month. In the corresponding month last year, the surplus was EUR 2.5 billion.
Exports surged 17 percent monthly to EUR 10.29 billion in October. Imports climbed 10 percent to EUR 5.9 billion.
On an annual basis, both exports and imports expanded by an unadjusted 29.0 percent and 9.0 percent, respectively in October.
