Italy’s consumer prices increased more than initially estimated in June, latest figures from the statistical office Istat showed Tuesday.

The consumer price index climbed 0.2 percent year-over-year in June, revised up from a 0.1 percent increase in the flash data. In May, prices had risen 0.1 percent. It was the second consecutive monthly gain.

At the same time, core inflation, excluding prices of unprocessed food and energy goods, remained stable at 0.6 percent in June.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices also went up 0.2 percent in June, revised from 0.1 percent hike estimated earlier, following a 0.1 percent rise in the prior month. Prices have been increasing since February.

The EU measure of inflation, or HICP, rose at a stable rate of 0.2 percent annually in June, in line with preliminary report. Similarly, the HICP edged up 0.1 percent in June from the previous month, confirming the provisional data.
