Italy’s retail sales increased for the first time in three months in July, figures from the statistical office Istat showed Thursday.
Retail sales rose a seasonally adjusted 0.4 percent month-over-month in July, reversing a 0.4 percent drop in the previous month. In June, sales had fallen 0.1 percent.
Food sales grew 0.5 percent in July and those of non- food products went up by 0.2 percent.
On a yearly basis, retail sales climbed at a stable pace of 1.7 percent in July. It was the third month of rise in a row.
In the three months ended July, retail sales increased 0.2 percent compared with the previous three months.
