Italy’s consumer price inflation remained unchanged in December, preliminary data published by Istat revealed Tuesday.

Consumer prices edged up 0.1 percent year-on-year in December as seen in November. On a monthly basis, it remained flat.

Excluding energy and unprocessed food, core inflation slid to 0.6 percent from 0.7 percent a month ago.

EU harmonized inflation slowed to 0.1 percent from 0.2 percent a month ago. The index dropped 0.1 percent. Final data is due on January 15.

Consumer price inflation eased for the third consecutive year in 2015. It fell to 0.1 percent from 0.2 percent in 2014. Core inflation was 0.7 percent, the same as in 2014.
