Japan’s all industry activity expanded at a faster pace in April, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry showed Tuesday.
The indices of all industry activity advanced 1.3 percent on a monthly basis in April, faster than the 0.2 percent increase seen in March and a 1.2 percent rise forecast by economists.
Construction activity rebounded in April, up 2.4 percent after falling 1.6 percent in March. Tertiary industry activity climbed 1.4 percent reversing a 0.5 percent drop seen a month ago.
Meanwhile, the increase in industrial output eased to 0.5 percent from 3.8 percent.
On a yearly basis, all industry activity edged up 0.1 percent in April as seen in March.
