Japan consumer confidence (06.00 BST) may have improved a touch further last month. Even though gasoline prices have edged up slightly in recent weeks, they remain much lower than a year ago, consistent with a further brightening in sentiment. Capital Economics forecasts an increase in the consumer confidence index from 41.7 to 42.5.
