Japanese Finance Minister Aso said he exchanged views on various issues, in a bilateral meeting with U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew
– Including the global economy and currency markets
Huh. If the yen strengthens much further (say if it settles under 100 against the USD …. but I’m sorta guessing, maybe it’s a big lower) I imagine Aso would like the US to join in on helping Japan out with some sort of ‘intervention’ – be it jawboning or something more determined. I reckon the topic might have been raised but I don’t know how amenable Secretary Lew might have been. Hmmm
