The monetary base in Japan was up 28.5 percent on year in March, the Bank of Japan said on Monday, coming in at 362.605 trillion yen.

That follows the 29.0 percent spike in February.

Banknotes in circulation added an annual 6.7 percent, while coins in circulation gained 0.8 percent.

Current account balances advanced 39.6 percent, including a 38.0 percent jump in reserve balances.

The adjusted monetary base gained 20.6 percent to 371.653 trillion yen.
