Producer prices in Japan were down 0.1 percent on month in November, the Bank of Japan said on Thursday.
That beat forecasts for a decline of 0.3 percent following the 0.6 percent contraction in October.
On a yearly basis, prices slipped 3.6 percent versus expectations for a decline of 3.8 percent – which would have been unchanged from the previous month.
Export prices were down 0.3 percent on month and 6.7 percent on year, the bank said, while import prices fell 0.6 percent on month and 19.0 percent on year.
