The leading index for Japan, which measures the future economic activity, decreased less than initially estimated in September, latest figures from the Cabinet Office showed Wednesday.
The leading index fell to 101.6 in September, which was revised up from the preliminary estimate of 101.4. In August, the reading was 103.5.
The latest reading was the lowest since January 2013, when it marked 101.4.
The coincident index that reflects the current economic activity, rose marginally to 112.3 in September from 112.2 in the prior month. The figure for September was revised up from 111.9.
At the same time, the lagging index that indicates the past economic activity, decreased to 114.7 in September from 115.1 a month earlier.
