Japan’s supermarket sales declined at a faster pace in March, a report from the Chain Store Association showed Tuesday.

Supermarket sales, after adjustment fell 8.6 percent year-over-year in March, much faster than February’s 0.8 percent decrease. Before store adjustment, sales dropped 7.3 percent.

On a monthly basis, supermarket sales surged 13.0 percent.
