Latvia’s economy grew for a seventh consecutive quarter during the first three months of the year, albeit at a slower pace, preliminary data from the Central Bureau of Statistics showed Thursday.
Gross domestic product rose a seasonally adjusted 0.4 percent from the fourth quarter, when the economy expanded 0.5 percent. In the third quarter of last year, the economy grew 0.4 percent.
Year-on-year, the GDP increased 2.1 percent in the first quarter, same as in the previous three months.
On an unadjusted basis, the economy grew 2 percent annually after a 2.1 percent expansion in the previous quarter.
Manufacturing grew 4 percent and service sector output increased 2 percent. Construction output declined 1 percent and trade remained unchanged.
