Latvia’s industrial production slowed for the second straight month in September, figures from the Central Statistical Office showed Tuesday.

Industrial production rose a calendar-adjusted 2.0 percent year-over-year in September, slower than the 4.0 percent gain in the previous month.

In July, production had risen 5.4 percent. The index has been increasing since March this year.

Production in the manufacturing sector climbed 1.3 percent annually in September and electricity and gas supply production grew by 6.9 percent. At the same time, mining and quarrying output dipped 3.6 percent.

On a monthly basis, industrial production dropped 0.7 percent in September, following a 1.3 percent fall in August. It was the fifth month of decrease in a row.
