Latvia’s industrial production growth eased in August from after accelerating sharply in the previous month, figures from the Central Statistical Office showed Monday.
Industrial production climbed a calendar-adjusted 6.4 percent year-over-year in August, slower than the 8.3 percent gain in July. Production has been rising since March.
Production in the mining and quarrying sector jumped 14.1 percent annually in August and that for electricity and gas supply surged by 12.4 percent. Manufacturing sector also logged a growth of 4.8 percent.
On a monthly basis, industrial production fell 1.4 percent in August, reversing a 2.8 percent increase in the preceding month.
