Latvia’s merchandise trade deficit for March narrowed from last year, data from the Central Statistical Bureau showed Monday.
The trade deficit narrowed to EUR 192.5 million from EUR 230.5 million in the previous year. In February, the shortfall was EUR 154.9 billion.
Exports declined 0.3 percent year-on-year, and imports dropped 3.7 percent. Month-on-month, exports rose 12.2 percent and imports grew 14.2 percent.
The country’s main export partners during March were Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, and Germany. Imports largely came from Lithuania, Poland, Germany and Estonia.
