In an article written for the feminist blog Lenny Letter, entitled “Don’t Agonize, Organize,” Lena Dunham chronicles her complete devastation on election night after she realized that “something had gone horribly wrong”. After repeatedly referring to Trump supporters as “homophobes, xenophobes” and various other “phobes” throughout the campaign cycle, we suspect many will find the details of her misery quite glorious.
The three hours I spent at the Javits Center Tuesday night, surrounded by campaign staffers and fellow surrogates for Hillary Clinton, are blurred and spotty. At a certain point it became clear something had gone horribly wrong. Celebrants’ faces turned. The modeling had been incorrect. Watching the numbers in Florida, I touched my face and realized I was crying. “Can we please go home?” I said to my boyfriend. I could tell he was having trouble breathing, and I could feel my chin breaking into hives. Another woman showed me her matching hive, hidden by fresh concealer.
I hugged the women I had spent eighteen months with, laughing and plotting and spreading our love for Hillary Clinton and her message. My party dress felt tight and itchy.
By the time we’d made it over the bridge, a friend called. “It’s over,” she said. “I love you.” I was frozen. We stopped at the diner. No one was speaking as they ate, no one in the whole place.
At home I got in the shower and began to cry even harder. My boyfriend, who had already wept, watched me as I mumbled incoherently, clutching myself. “It wasn’t supposed to go this way. It was supposed to be her job. She worked her whole life for the job. It’s her job.”
Meanwhile, as we pointed out recently (see “These Are The Celebrities Who Vowed To Leave America If Trump Wins“), Dunham, along with a whole host of other celebrities, vowed to leave the country if Trump were ever elected president. And, while we haven’t received any confirmations on who will be the first to leave, one gentlemen in Illinois decided he couldn’t wait for Lena Dunham to make her own travel arrangements to Canada so he started a “GoFundMe” campaign to buy her a one-way ticket.
Please help buy Lena Dunham a one way ticket to Vancouver Canada.
Lena stated, if Donald Trump won the election, she would leave the USA, and move to Canada:
Lena Dunham told Andy Cohen at the Matrix Awards that “I know a lot of people have been threatening to do this, but I really will. I know a lovely place in Vancouver.”
Once $2000 is collected, a 1 way ticket to Canada will be purchased, and sent to Lena’s publicist. Any additional, or excess, funds will be donated to Autism Speaks.
Help spread the word!
Meanwhile, Martin Shkreli also seems to have made travel arrangements for Dunham.
I have a Gulfstream V waiting for you to leave the US. I assume you eat for the equivalent of 5. A chef will be on board. @lenadunham

Aren’t these folks so nice? We truly hope that Lena can use this outpouring of generosity from the American people to help cope with her misery over the election.
