Lithuania’s consumer prices continued to decline in September, though at a slower pace than in the prior month, figures from the Department of Statistics showed Thursday.

The consumer price index fell 1.0 percent year-over-year in September, following a 1.2 percent decrease in August. Prices have been falling since December last year.

Transport costs plunged 8.7 percent annually in September and utility costs slipped by 4.0 percent. At the same time, clothing and footwear prices grew 3.2 percent.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.6 percent in September, reversing a 0.8 percent decrease in the previous month. It was the first increase in four months.
