Lithuania’s industrial production expanded in April from a year ago, figures from Statistics Lithuania showed Thursday.

Industrial production climbed a working-day-adjusted 2.3 percent year-over-year in April. On an unadjusted basis, production grew by 1.6 percent.

Production in the manufacturing sector rose 1.1 percent in April from the previous year, while mining and quarrying output plunged by 10.4 percent.

On a monthly basis, industrial production increased a seasonally and working-day-adjusted 3.4 percent in April. Without adjustment, production declined by 2.0 percent.

In the January to April period, total industrial production advanced a working-day-adjusted 3.2 percent compared with the respective period last year.
