Statistics Canada is set to release Canada GDP data for August at 8:30 am ET Friday. Ahead of the data, the loonie weakened against its major rivals.
The loonie was valued at 1.4497 against the euro, 91.58 against the yen, 0.9346 against the aussie and 1.3162 against the greenback at 8:25 am ET.
