At 8:30 am ET Friday, Statistics Canada is due to release Canada jobs data for November. The employment is forecast to have fallen by 12,500 jobs, reversing from 44,400 jobs added last month.
The loonie showed mixed trading against the other major currencies before the data. While the loonie rose against the yen and the greenback, it held steady against the euro and the aussie.
The loonie was worth 1.4541 against the euro, 92.22 against the yen, 0.9763 against the aussie and 1.3332 against the greenback as of 8:25 am ET.
