Luxembourg’s unemployment rate decreased in September to the lowest level in thirty months, after remaining stable in the previous five months, figures from the statistical office STATEC showed Thursday.
The seasonally adjusted jobless rate fell to 6.7 percent in September from 6.9 percent in August. In the corresponding month last year, the unemployment rate was 7.2 percent.
The latest unemployment rate was the lowest since March 2013, when it marked the same 6.7 percent.
The number of unemployed people decreased to 17,616 in September from 17,925 in the preceding month. A year ago, the jobless figure totaled 18,549.
On an unadjusted basis, the number registered unemployed persons was 17,026 in September, down from 17,150 in August.
