Macedonia’s industrial production increased markedly in June, figures from the State Statistical Office showed Wednesday.

Industrial production surged 6.4 percent year-over-year in June. Manufacturing production grew 4.3 percent and production in the utility sector jumped by 13.8 percent. Mining and quarrying output also advanced 9.2 percent.

Among main industrial groupings, energy production was higher by 5.8 percent in June as compared to last year and capital good industries expanded by 33.3 percent

During the first six months of the year, industrial production increased 0.8 percent compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.
