The Malaysian ringgit strengthened against the U.S. dollar in the Asian session on Friday.

Against the greenback, the ringgit rose to a 1-week high of 4.2820 from yesterday’s closing value of 4.3300.

If the ringgit extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around the 4.15 area.

Traders await the Bank Negara Malaysia’s interest rate decision, due later in the day. The economists expect the bank to hold rates at 3.25 percent.
