Malta’s industrial production decreased for the fifth consecutive month in May, figures from the National Statistics Office showed Wednesday.
Industrial production fell 3.3 percent year-over-year in May, which was worse than the 2.2 percent decline in April.
The annual decline in May was mainly due to decreases of 9.9 percent in the production of intermediate goods and 4.2 percent in the production of capital goods.
On a monthly basis, industrial production climbed 0.3 percent in May, following a 1.3 percent rise in the prior month. It was the second successive monthly increase.
