Malta’s jobless rate declined in the three months ended June from a year ago, figures from the National Statistics Office showed Tuesday.
The unemployment rate fell to 5.4 percent in the second quarter from 5.8 percent in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The number of unemployed people decreased to 10,594 in the three-month period to June from 11,144 a year earlier.
At the same time, the employment rate came in at 63.9 percent in the June quarter, up from 62.5 percent in the same period last year.
