Mexico’s industrial production grew at a steady annual pace in March, even as manufacturing gain slowed, figures from the statistical office INEGI showed Tuesday.

Industrial production rose 1.7 percent annually in March, same as in February. Economists had expected 1.9 percent growth. In January, production rose 0.8 percent.

Manufacturing output rose 3.1 percent annually after a 4.2 percent growth in the previous month.

Month-on-month, industrial production was unchanged in March, after a 0.3 percent gain in the previous month. Economists were looking for a 0.4 percent increase. Production declined in December and January.
